I can say with complete confidence that you will not be disappointed by Liverpool House. Everything was on the money. Before we get into the details, this place is very popular and you will need reservations. If you just pop in you may be lucky enough to find that they had some no-shows and can snag a seat, otherwise, make a reservation…far in advance!

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk everything else. The place itself is very laid back and warm, makes you feel at home and comfortable. I know this doesn’t make sense but it’s very simple yet very busy with lots of random things all over the place that add to the charm. Even the napkins made me feel like I was at my Nonna’s house, very comforting. The kid sister and neighbour to popular resto Joe Beef also impressed with the service. Nobody seemed to be in a rush but nothing took too long to arrive at our table. I was amazed that the waitress explained every single item on the menu in great detail (for tourists: they’ll explain in english if need be) and answered any questions we had. When asked, they made what felt like sincere suggestions and not cookie cutter responses you get in a lot of restaurants. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Kudos to them!

As for the food, the easiest way to describe how good it is would be to tell you that I got a half chub (for those who don’t know what that is) after the first bite of my entrée and it lasted until the last bite of desert. Sorry for the visual. The menu, which is written on a chalkboard on the wall, changes quite often so you never really know what you’re in for. This definitely adds to the excitement and no matter what’s written on that chalkboard, you will enjoy it. The food is fresh, both in taste and concept, and all aspects of each meal really compliment each other. Some are simple but not typical, others are complex and intricate, all are phenomenal. Your bill can easily get out of control but portions are sizable and worth every penny. If you haven’t tried it already, what the hell are you waiting for?!
